The Reforge the Yamato update launched June 12, 2026. Yamato is a 5-star Katana — the second weapon to reach that tier after Explosion — and cannot be bought from any shop. It also introduced Space Invaders, Red Orbs, Space Ore, the Space Shop, and a trading overhaul.

Where to forge Yamato (Midgard Island)
The Yamato crafting pedestal is on Midgard Island — also called Dungeon Island. You cannot forge Yamato anywhere else.
- Enter Midgard Island through the portal from the main world hub.
- Climb the stairs after arriving and move toward the central atrium.
- Find the first circular pedestal near the Mastery NPC, Space Shop, and Boss Quest NPC — use these landmarks to orient.
- Confirm all materials including 1,000 Red Orbs and the Space element in your inventory.
- Interact with the pedestal and select craft. If greyed out, a missing material count is the usual cause.
How to get the Space element
Required before or during the Yamato forge. Space gives the best synergy with Yamato and Space Ore upgrades.
Space Shop (Midgard)
Buy the Space element using Holy currency at the Space Shop on Midgard Island. Exact Holy cost needs in-game verification (one transcript mentions 10,000 Holy per Space Ore — unconfirmed for the element itself).
Space Invader drop
Defeat Space Invaders on Midgard Island for a chance at the Space element drop. Farm Red Orbs and Space Ore at the same time.

Transformation (V skill): Press V to charge. Once the charge completes, Yamato shifts into its transformed state — raising damage ceiling and changing attack behavior. This is the feature that sets Yamato apart from other Katanas like Moon Cut or Light Scar.
How to upgrade Yamato with Space Ore
After forging, upgrade Yamato using Space Ore — reported as the best ore for this weapon. Also push Soul Forge levels, Katana Mastery, the new Master Quest, and Altars (+10% Damage, +380% Health account-wide per AllThings.How).
